The art and culture of Elba are no less suggestive of its natural beauty. The island, which is located in a strategic position, has been for many centuries a very important landing place for the various peoples that crossed the Mediterranean.

Its history is therefore rich and interesting and offers visitors many testimonies of great interest.

• Villa San Martino and Villa dei Mulini, Napoleon's residences during his exile on the island
• The Tower della Linguella and the rest of the Caves, splendid examples of Roman architecture
• The Tower of San Giovanni in Campo, built by the Pisans during their dominion
• Forte San Giacomo in Porto Azzurro, trace of the Spanish settlement
• The historic center of Portoferraio with the Forts Stella and Falcone, the Medici Bastions, commissioned by the Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo I dei Medici as a defense against Turkish attacks.
• The Elba aquarium in Marina di Campo, completely private structure, built and managed on a small island, which does not use public funds, and which is considered one of the most complete existing Mediterranean aquariums
